Employers

Employers play a very important role in helping children receive the support that they need. In Tennessee, income withholding is part of most child support orders. This means that the employer must withhold part of an employee’s wages to pay child support.

To help track non-custodial parents and to speed up the processing of child support payments from wages, the law requires that all employers must report newly hired employees to a central registry called the Tennessee New Hire Reporting Program. From this site you will be able to register for access to the Tennessee New Hire system in order to report your new hires via online data entry or secure file upload. You can also register as a multi-state employer from this site and check your own account information.
